FAQs
Are your courses accredited?
Absolutely not. What you’ll find here are industry secrets, insider insights, and hard-earned wisdom from over a decade in the creative trenches. You won’t leave with a certificate—but you’ll leave smarter.
Why are your prices in USD?
Let’s keep it 100. Payment gateways in the Caribbean are a pain. To ensure secure, streamlined payments for both of us, I use PayPal—which operates in USD.
Do you teach Graphic Design?
Nope. I don’t teach how to design.
I teach business strategies for designers—and other creatives—so you can make money from your skill. Sometimes. I may walk you through a Canva or Photoshop process. But the core lessons focus on managing the business side of your creativity—not the design itself.
What’s your why?
I do this because the Caribbean creative economy is undervalued and underutilized. We’re sitting on a goldmine—and with the right knowledge and support, we’re unstoppable. I got here through grit, guidance, and good people. I want to be that support for you.
Why aren’t your courses free if you care so much?
Because building this takes money—platforms, production, time. But I promise this is the most affordable, structured delivery of this kind of knowledge in our region. If you find better at a lower cost, send me the link.
Are courses refundable?
No. All sales are final. Please read the course description before purchasing.
Do you offer anything specifically for video editors or animators?
Not yet—but I’m open to collabs. If you’re a videographer or animator and want to build something together, email me.
Why aren’t your courses free if you care so much?
Promise not to start a cross-Caribbean Twitter war? Whether or not my island owns Rihanna… I love all the islands. On this platforms we are ONE CARIBBEAN. But for the record: I was born in Jamaica.
Who Am I?

My name is Joy-Ann Molliana Johnson—but Molli is shorter, so let’s stick with that. I’ve been a creative professional for 10+ years.
I learned through:
- YouTube tutorials
- Informal mentorship
- Hard life lessons
- And whispered trade secrets from creatives like Jer, OB, Kerri-Dale, Sharry, David, Dwayne, Squiddy, Kevin, Oniel, and Jack (Thank you guys)
Now, I’m documenting my complete portfolio, and passing on what I’ve learned. This academy is part of my life’s work. It's my give-back. My legacy.
Here, you’ll learn how to set boundaries, handle late invoices, and find a creative community that gets your struggle. Mine was small—but it made all the difference.
Welcome to the School of Soft Knocks—your support system as a Caribbean creative professional.
What gives me the right to do all this?
Nothing. No one.
There are no certificates here (yet). No accreditations. Just real game from the Creative Third World.
When I started 15 years ago, there was no single place to learn all this. I’m building that place—for the next generation.
